Functional Behaviour Assessment
We gather information from the person, their family and relevant support people to understand patterns, contributing factors and what behaviour may be communicating.
We support children, teenagers and adults with disability or neurodivergence. The starting point is the person’s experience—not a one-size-fits-all response to behaviour.
Work with the young person and their family to understand behaviour, support communication and build practical strategies for home, school and the community.
Talk about supportSupport that respects the person’s preferences, relationships and goals, with a focus on everyday participation, choice and independence.
Talk about supportA collaborative approach for the people around the participant, connecting assessment and planning with practical training and consistent implementation.
Talk about supportAn incident tells us something happened. Assessment helps us understand why. We look at the person’s strengths, needs and environment, alongside the information their support network can share.
We work to understand what matters to the person, how they communicate and what makes daily life easier or harder.
A Functional Behaviour Assessment brings together observations, discussions and available records to explore what may be contributing to behaviour.
Plans describe how to prevent difficulties, build skills and respond when support is needed, in language the team can use.
Kiran Roberts and David Ahern support our clinicians through supervision and review, including when support needs are complex.
Our work connects assessment, planning and implementation. We agree on the scope with you, then keep checking whether the strategies are useful in daily life.
We gather information from the person, their family and relevant support people to understand patterns, contributing factors and what behaviour may be communicating.
Individualised, proactive and responsive strategies built around the person’s needs and goals, with guidance on how the people supporting them can put the plan into practice.
Practical guidance for families and support teams, followed by feedback and review. Strategies are refined as we learn what works and the person’s circumstances change.
Assessment, planning, training and review—all connected. Here’s how we work with you and the people supporting you.

Positive Behaviour Support starts with understanding why behaviour happens and what the person needs. We use that understanding to build skills, adjust supports and develop practical strategies that improve quality of life. The focus is the person—not simply stopping a behaviour.
Children, teenagers and adults with disability or neurodivergence who need support with behaviours affecting everyday life. We work with the person, their family and their wider support team. An initial conversation helps us understand whether behaviour support is the right fit.
Funding depends on your NDIS plan and the supports it includes. Tell us how your plan is managed and we’ll discuss the funding and service arrangements before getting started. Your support coordinator or plan manager can help you understand what is available.
Participants, parents, carers, support coordinators and providers can all get in touch. The enquiry form on our homepage is the first step, not a full clinical referral. With the right consent, we’ll arrange the information needed to take things further.
Availability varies by location and support needs. We work across Ipswich, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Newcastle, with surrounding areas considered. Send an enquiry and we’ll confirm whether we can help before you commit to services.
We work with families and support teams to understand and use the strategies. Training, feedback and review help us see what’s working and where changes are needed. Implementation and follow-up are agreed as part of the service arrangements.
